It is 2045. 15 years ago the MIT MediaLab began experimenting with DNA based computing in an effort to create adaptive technology for the blind.The result was an augmented neural network that connected every sense to the internet. Media conglamates, excited by this technology ported it to their web platforms.

Gaming platforms became revolutionized. Patient Zero, a zombie first person shooter grew into a a three billion dollar enterprise.Until the computer base DNA began to learn.

No one knows when it happened, but the DNA, which was jacked into users, mutated with the Common Cold, and it learned to feed. Not on brains, but on code. Code now trapped in our brains. And there is only one way to get it out
